Over the years as the HOA got stronger, as our coffers grew we tackled some projects. Our first significant project was suing B-Corp for the substandard work they did on the back deck. The deck leaked into the parking garage creating an unsafe environment. We won our suit and took the money plus an assessment (our first) and set about creating a true park like setting. The structural problems caused by B-Corp were corrected, and we hired award winning landscape architect Bill Wenk and he created an oasis. We tackled the hallways, bringing in some warmth. The raspberry carpet was replaced. New light fixtures appeared on the scene. Doris O’Brien a long time resident, interior designer and accomplished painter tackled the elevators…the cabs have held up well over the years…she added a desk to the vestibule. We adorned the ends of each hall way with art quality black and white photos of local landmarks. It must be said the furniture left something to be desired, it was both unattractive, and uncomfortable. It really gave off a nursing home vibe and not in a good way.
